Our Team

Dr. Aynsley Girardeau is the owner of Mint Hill Eye, where she is passionate about providing exceptional, personalized eye care while building lasting relationships with her patients and their families.

Dr. Girardeau earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Georgia and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. She went on to complete a residency in ocular disease at the Salisbury VA Medical Center. Her advanced clinical training has fostered a particular passion for diagnosing and managing ocular disease, while her love of people inspires her approach to comprehensive eye care.

Dr. Girardeau believes that caring for patients extends beyond the exam room. She is dedicated to serving her community, building meaningful relationships, and making every patient feel welcome, heard, and valued.

Outside of the office, her greatest joy is being mom to her son, Daxton. You’ll often find her cheering him on at soccer games, staying active through fitness and yoga, gardening, traveling, or enjoying the outdoors with her two dogs, Porter and Hops. Her Christian faith, family, and commitment to serving others are at the heart of everything she does.

Dr. Girardeau is grateful to serve the Mint Hill community and considers it a privilege to care for the vision and eye health of her patients and their families.

Megan is a Certified Paraoptometric (CPO) who takes pride in helping patients feel comfortable, welcomed, and cared for. She earned her professional certification in 2023 and enjoys combining her knowledge of eye care with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

Known for her positive attitude and sense of humor, Megan brings warmth and a little laughter to each day at Mint Hill Eye. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, exploring her creative side, and making the most of life’s little moments. She believes kindness and genuine connections make all the difference.

Sheena has been a valued member of Mint Hill Eye for over six years. Starting at the front desk before transitioning into optical, she developed a passion for helping patients find the perfect eyewear and especially enjoys edging lenses and crafting glasses in-house.

Sheena also serves as Regional Site Coordinator for our clinical research program and has completed training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Known for her welcoming personality, she takes pride in building lasting relationships and remembering patients by name.

Outside of work, Sheena enjoys family time, trips to the Outer Banks, saltwater fishing, reading, and fitness. She’s also a proud dog mom to Remy, her 15-year-old Dachshund.

Please join us in welcoming Karleen, the newest addition to the Mint Hill Eye team! Originally from beautiful New Zealand (yes, New Zealand—not Australia or England!), Karleen brings her warm personality and cheerful spirit to our office. She always has a smile on her face and loves chatting with patients, making everyone feel welcome and right at home.

Outside the office, Karleen is a proud mom of four daughters who mean the world to her. When she's not spending time with her girls, you might find her enjoying one of her favorite pastimes—mowing the lawn! We're thrilled to have Karleen on our team and know you'll love getting to know her.
